How would you behave if you were the happiest person you know? What would your laughter sound like? Would you giggle or chuckle, snort or wheeze?
These questions are part of a Laughing Yoga thought experiment. Laughing Yoga is a concept developed by Dr. Madan Kataria based on the scientific fact that our bodies can’t tell the difference between a genuine or a forced laugh. Laughter will produce the the same physiological and psychological benefits such as strengthening your immune system, boosting your energy, diminishing pain, and protecting yourself from the damaging effects of stress.
Since founding the first ever Laughter Club in 1995, Dr. Kataria has dedicated his life to spreading the universal language of laughter with the goal of bringing good health, joy and peace to the world.
