The best part of my job are all the wonderful and inspiring SwellWomen I get to meet from all over the world. I truly feel blessed, blissed and an overwhelming feeling of gratitude at each of my retreats. I love my job.
I couldn’t let my blog pass up the incredible Margi and her daughter Rachel that joined us for our SwellWomen week. I received a call from Rachel to book a week of surf and yoga. Later, she called me back and wanted to know if we had room for her mom, Margi. She also let me know that Margi, age 66, probably wouldn’t get in the water to surf but just wanted to come along for a vacation with her. Yes, I said…bring your mom. I secretly made it my mission to get her on a board.
Well, I didn’t have to do any coaxing whatsoever. Margi just jumped right in and has attended all the surf lessons with a big smile on her face and an adventurous spirit in her heart. I love it! What an inspiration to all of us, thank you Margi for coming.
Let’s not forget about Rachel who blew up the waves, tore down the line and caught every wave she tried for. A new surfer is born. Thanks for joining us Rachel.
Our mission is to provide inspiration for growth and renewal through surfing and yoga on the beautiful island of Maui. Margi, my sister, told me about the surfboard headstand Rachel did! What an incredible sight that must have been! I am so glad that you enjoyed these two blessed and beautiful women. Something tells me you just might see athlete Rachel again…..
